It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you that BalancED MK - Eating Disorder Support Services, is now closed.

BalancED MK has offered eating disorder support services to anyone affected by any form of disordered eating since 2007. Emma Bacon and her team of volunteers raised more than £300,000 over a 13 year period to enable the provision of BMK’s life saving services including: telephone and email support, specialised 1-1 counselling, recovery focussed self-help groups, outreach activities and training workshops.

Unfortunately, a lack of long-term funding, the availability of specialist volunteers and personal circumstances mean that providing long-term professional services is no longer sustainable and Balanced MK will therefore be closed from now onwards.

This website will remain online for the foreseeable future, providing information about alternative services and resources including potential counsellors and life-coaches. You can also visit the following links to view information about national organisations and resources offering help to those affected by eating disorders:

We’re proud and humbled to have been involved in the recovery of so many people and wish you all well for the future.

Thank you for your understanding.

From Emma Bacon and the Balanced MK team.

BalancED MK was a Community Interest Company (CIC) supporting people affected by disordered eating, including anorexia, bulimia and over eating issues. We provided support through the provision of recovery focussed self-support groups, nutritional guidance, support for loved ones, specialist one to one recovery coaching and counselling recommendations, and general outreach and training about eating disorders.

We worked mainly in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas.
